TikTok Transcript Generator

Paste a TikTok link and get what was said as text, in the language it was said. Copy the TikTok script or download it with timestamps.

TikTok to text in a few seconds

TikTok is built for scrolling, not for finding things again. If a video taught you something, the useful part is usually a few sentences you'd rather have in writing. This TikTok transcript generator takes the link to a public TikTok and gives you its spoken words as text, usually within 5 to 20 seconds.

In the app (iPhone or Android):

  1. Open the video.
  2. Tap the Share arrow on the right edge of the screen.
  3. Scroll the bottom row of the share sheet and tap Copy link.

In a browser:

  1. Open the video on tiktok.com so it has its own page.
  2. Copy the address from the address bar, or click Copy link on the video page.

The link you paste should point to a single video, not to a profile or a hashtag page.

What a TikTok transcript is good for

Repurposing your own videos

If you post on TikTok regularly, you are already writing a lot. The problem is that it's trapped in video. Run your own TikToks through the generator and you have raw material for a newsletter, a carousel, a blog post or a thread. Edit the spoken style into written style, add a heading or two, and you have a second piece of content from work you already did.

Learning how a TikTok script is built

Searching for "tiktok script" usually means wanting to know how a good video is written. A transcript shows you the wording that video opened with, how long the creator spent on setup, and whether the ending loops back to the first line so the video replays smoothly. Read a few in your niche and you'll start to hear the pattern. Use what you learn to write your own script rather than reading someone else's on camera.

Keeping instructions you'll need again

Recipes, keyboard shortcuts, workout routines, travel tips: a lot of TikTok is instructions. A transcript you can paste into your notes beats a saved video you have to scrub through with flour on your hands.

From transcript to thread, step by step

Spoken TikToks don't read well as-is. People repeat themselves, start sentences over, and lean on "like" and "so." Here is a quick way to turn a transcript of your own video into a written thread:

  1. Paste the transcript into a blank document.
  2. Delete the greeting and the sign-off.
  3. Find the three to five separate points and give each its own paragraph.
  4. Cut every sentence to the shortest version that still says the same thing.
  5. Turn your hook into the first post, and end with a link back to the video.

TXT or SRT?

  • TXT is the transcript as plain text. Open it in any editor, search it, or paste it into a document.
  • SRT is a subtitle file. The text is split into short numbered lines, each with a start and end time. Load it into a video editor when you want subtitles on a version of your video you're posting somewhere else, or keep it to see exactly when each sentence was spoken.

Limits worth knowing

The generator reads what any visitor can watch on TikTok without logging in. It can't get a transcript from:

  • Private accounts
  • Videos that have been deleted
  • Videos shared with you in messages
  • TikToks with music, sounds or a photo slideshow but no talking

The transcript is written in the language spoken in the video. If you need it in another language, you'll have to translate it yourself.

First one free, no account

Your first TikTok transcript is free, without signing up. After that you need an account and credits: packs start at $5 for 30 transcripts and never expire, or Pro is $9 a month for 300. A TikTok up to 5 minutes uses one credit, and a transcript that fails costs nothing. We don't save the TikTok or publish it anywhere; you only receive the text.

How to use

1

Tap Share on the TikTok

In the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow on the right side of the video.

2

Choose Copy link

It's in the row of options at the bottom of the share sheet. On a computer, you can copy the address bar instead.

3

Paste it here

Paste the link into the box on this page and start. You don't need a TikTok login, and your first transcript here needs no account.

4

Take the text

Copy the transcript in one click, or download TXT or an SRT caption file.

Use cases

TikTok to blog post

Turn a how-to TikTok you filmed into the outline of a blog post or a help-center article.

TikTok to thread

Split a transcript into short posts for X or Threads, one point per post, so the same idea reaches people who don't watch video.

Answering a video in a stitch

Read exactly what the other creator said before you film a stitch or duet response, so you reply to their words and not your memory of them.

Notes from educational TikToks

Keep the text of a recipe, a study tip or a software walkthrough instead of scrolling back to find it later.
